I'm strong-willed, independent, opinionated, intelligent and loved. Not everyone loves me. In fact, a lot of people hate me and I'm pretty okay with that because the people who love me are some of the best people in the world. My grasp of the English Language has improved since I began writing this. The public entries are not really a good indicator of who I am, how I write or what I think--it has been too long and I have grown too much. Even so, I refuse to make my journal public. If you wish to know about me feel free to comment and friend me. We'll take it from there.

I'm strong to the point of being overpowering. I rarely mean to be though there are times I do it on purpose. My strength, my ability to express myself and my refusal to tailor my vicious honesty to others has won me friends and lost me friends--recently. I've been called everything under the sun: A paragon of strength, a weak-willed child, considerate friend, inconsiderate bitch, emotionally abusive, emotionally supportive. I've been called the poison and the cure in the same day. But the fact of the matter is that I am pretty happy with who I am. I'm not perfect but I'm not tragically flawed either (though I've been painted as both on more than one occasion). The unexamined life is not worth living so I'm always open to a new opinion about me, those I love, my surroundings, literature or hipogrifs. I am not open to substance abuse, psycho-babel, hypocrisy, drama, blamers, or emotional crutches. This keeps me from being popular but keeps me from wanting to be popular. Frankly if everyone liked me, I would know I'd been lying. I give this world indigestion.

My tolerance for bullshit is very low, which is ironic since I am frequently accused of being full of bullshit ^_^ Such is life. I'm a feminist and a sort of old fashioned Christian. I know, the tension in that sentence is bizarre but I'm still working out the fine points. I'm the youngest of nine kids and grew up blue collar. I am farm kid. I love animals.


I attended a small liberal arts college. I graduated with a BA in English. I want to be a college professor some day. I've been with the love of my life since January 20, 2004. I live in Eastern Indianapolis and I do a little bit of everything for a small Industrial Contracting company. I do purchasing, receiving, sales, administrative work and customer service for this kickass little place on the west side. Its a fun atmosphere and my coworkers are awesome. There are only 8 people in the entire company and 2 of us are under 25.

I'm very selective about who I LJ friend because I have had MORE THAN ENOUGH LJ drama. These journals can be so problematic if too many people read them. Get a sense of who I am by scanning the older entries, though I'm a bit more mature and a far better writer than I was when I started this journal.

Shayne: HUSBAND since September 22nd, 2008, boyfriend since 2004 and dear friend since 2003. Talented musician, loyal friend, reporter extraordinaire, beautiful human being and shining beacon of intelligence in a world of dolts. Recovering from a Central Indiana Childhood. Able to skewer with humor, shower with love and kill with a crowbar. Have him on your side when the zombies come.
Jennifer: Friend since 2002, roommate in 2005-2006, theatre lover since 1984. Dancer, reporter, lighting designer, battle-bot and tickle center of the universe. Recovering from a VERY Brady childhood. Able to calm my white hot rage so she can show the power of her own white hot rage. We make a fantastic transformer robot. Cynical, clever, a ditz, and the person I liver.
Aaron: Friend since 2002, determined drummer, ninja turtle and Jennifer's Yang. Calm, cool, collected and able to make a turnip cry. Funny, strikingly intelligent, level headed and impartial. Not really suffering from his Central Indiana Childhood. He's your secret weapon when the zombies come.

Drew: The sweetest man known to the planet, though sometimes to his own detriment. Drew is the person you would always want in your Zombie Shelter because he'd know what to do and he'd do it with little ado. To have Drew call you friend is a compliment of high order. Recovering from a Whiteland childhood nicely.

The Core Four is a group of fourfive friends who have seen many good friends come and go. The group dynamic remains friendly, intelligent, fun and unaltered...no matter what drama goes on outside of it. The Core Four is stable, loving, supportive, powerful and formidable. Do not invoke the wrath of the entire Core. You would not like to suffer or witness it. Just as the Three Musketeers grew to a total of four, the Core Four now has five members who are integral parts of each other's lives. We love, support and take care of one another through thick and thin, across distance and against odds.
